SJ and HD first met online when they were teenagers. Drawn together by their ridiculously fortunate astrological compatibility (or perhaps their mutual love of literature?), they have been friends ever since. Now they live together and write books while sitting in cute coffee shops.
SJ received an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School in New York and has published short stories in various literary journals across the nation. Presently, she’s living in the windy, broad-shouldered city of Chicago where she works as a writing tutor at an arts school full of incredible teenagers, occasionally plays hostess at a french bistro run by a napoleonic madman, and habitually complains about the weather. In between (and sometimes during) work and complaints, she drinks copious amounts of overpriced coffee, does kitchen yoga, watches terrible television, and obsesses about next week’s Sunday brunch.
HD earned a BA in Theatre & Dance from the University of Texas at Austin, where she also studied classical civilizations and comparative mythology. Between hosting drama workshops for teenagers, she worked at a semi-swanky law firm doing mostly nothing until she moved to Chicago. Now, she’s doing administrative work in a super tall building with the most ridiculous view. When she’s not working or writing, she enjoys starting (and sometimes finishing) diy projects, thrift shopping, eating any dish with noodles, updating her personal blog, and imagining how her life would change if she would just learn to [redacted], already.
